Manufacturer-sourced facts. Meanings, numeric specifics (reset times, hose depths and heights, lockout periods) and procedures are taken from the manufacturer's official support documentation, cited and linked on the page itself. If a fact is not in an official source, it does not go on the page.
One page, one intent. Each code gets its own page. We do not publish mega-lists in which the code you need gets two lines.
Model differences resolved, not hedged. Where a manufacturer uses one code for two faults, we print the model-conditional table. "Check your manual" appears only as a confirmation step, never as the answer.
One reset policy. Manufacturers publish different reset waits for different code families. We quote the figure for your code family and name its source, rather than rounding everything to one invented number.
A DIY-stop line on every page. What is safe, what is technician-only, and what the technician will check.
A publishing threshold. Pages are only published when they can carry the full standard above. The Samsung heater code HE currently sits below that bar and is deliberately unpublished.
Guides carry a "Reviewed" month. We re-check pages against manufacturer documentation on a rolling basis, and corrections sent via the contact page are assessed against the official source and applied with the review date updated.
